Basin or circular tray with recessed bottom and salient brim. The brim is framed and completely filled in with inscribed bows and vegetal rolls. At the edge of the rim, there is a fillet of ovules that is repeated around the central medallion. This is followed by a fillet of pearls.
In the bottom, there are two concentric bands, the first one being a smooth part, while the second, on a higher plane, has motifs similar to those on the brim. From this second band, identical elements radiate into the smooth surface.
In the centre, on an elevated plane, there is a framed medallion with a double-faced figure, bedecked in low relief. A legend on a circular surface surrounds these figures.
This basin in gilded silver has marks from Antwerp, the great trading centre for Flemish goldwork, principally starting in the second quarter of the 16th century.
